This experience takes the viewer on a journey back in time to observe the conditions and processes responsible for the formation of coal. A series of 360-degree videos are presented which place you inside the environment where organic material is being generated, buried and through the stages of compaction. These videos were all produced from a 3D computer simulation that was modelled to replicate these environmental conditions and animate the processes involved in geological material formation. This application was developed for the students of Minerals and Energy Resources Engineering (MERE) subjects at the University of New South Wales (UNSW).
